The Pantheon

The Pantheon, to me, is a wonder of architecture. I was exposed to it during a course in Italian Renaissance Art and Architecture and understood immediately why is was included in the material. The building is incredible. The sheer size is breathtaking and only complemented by how much of a feat it was to create such a large dome with limited tools. The engineering was amazing. Although I may not have experienced the building live, the I ages themselves are powerful enough to invoke serious feelings of shock and awe. The pillars, the dome, the geometry and sheer size are almost unbelievable.
