The Biltmore Hotel in Miami
I vacationed in Miami, Florida in the summer of 2012 and I took this photo of the luxurious Biltmore Hotel and Resort in Coral Gables while I was riding a tour bus. I had not heard of this hotel before the bus tour, but I fell in love with it at first sight. It was built in 1925 and included a championship golf course, polo fields, tennis courts, and a huge 150 x 225 foot pool. Many interesting and distinguished guests have frequently stayed here, such as President Franklin D. Roosevelt, notorious gangster Al Capone, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. However, during World War II the hotel was converted into a hospital. Then in 1992, Seaway Hotels Corporation bought the hotel and launched a $40 million renovation to restore the Biltmore to its world class elegance. One day, I definitely plan on saving up money and staying there.
