St. Paul’s Church

St. Paul’s Church was designed by Henry Latrobe in the Gothic style. This building is held in Alexandria, Virginia, and is a historic Episcopal Church. Latrobe decided that this building needed high columns, as well as a very open area for congregational meetings. Along with an open area for preaching, Latrobe decided that the church needed the speaker to be centered and easily seen by all viewers, therefore the viewers would not be distracted by the galleries and could focus on the prayer itself. The church also had galleries on the south, west, and north sides. This church is said to be designed nearly like the St. James Church. Saint Paul's-2B
