Robert Venturi was born June 25, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA and went to Princeton University where he studied architecture. He is the founding principal of the firm Venture, Scott Brown and Associates, and one of the major architectural figures of the 20th century. Mr. Venturi was awarded the Pritzker Prize for Architecture in 1991 which is a very prestigious award. Venturi’s works drew away from the widely practiced common designs and drew more towards designs that were more exploratory.
