Philip Johnson’s Thanks-Giving Square

5. I have been in Dallas,TX a bajillion times and seen this place never knowing what this place was for. Now that I know I definitely have to stop by next time I am in the area. Thanks-Giving Square is a park, chapel and museum and is operated by a non profit called the Thanks-giving Foundation. Philip Johnson was asked to design this place which was meant to promote the concept of giving and living thanks. The foundation provides info and resources for people of diverse backgrounds and help them to understand and respect one another with kindness. There are several programs and events hosted at the Thanks-Giving Square. Out of the large range of architectural work from Philip Johnson, it is fascinating to learn this was one of his designs. He really was a modern thinker all around.
