Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur

The Petronas Towers are located in downtown Malaysia. The skyscraper was designed by architect Cesar Pelli and Achmad Murdijat. From 1998 — 2004 these were the tallest buildings in the world, and still remain the tallest twin towers in the world. The towers serve multiple purposes and have unique features. The bottom floor of the towers is a shopping center for high end shoppers. This shopping center includes an aquarium. This is one of the largest malls in Malaysia. Connecting the two buildings on the 41st and 42nd floor is a double story sky bridge, one of the tallest in the world. The sky bridge isn’t attached to the main structure of the building but is allowed to slide in and out of them, to allow the buildings to sway without bending the structures. Anyone is able to access the sky bridge but must purchase a ticket to do so first. I think that this building is really cool because of its multipurpose use and how it draws people in to experience what it has to offer. towers
