Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Perot Museum of Nature and Science is one if my favorite buildings in Dallas, Texas. The side of the building with glass casing escalator caught my eye. The only thing I wish this building had was a little bit more glass. I wouldn’t go inside this building again since the Nature and Science did not catch my attention. However, Perot Museum was designed by Thom Mayne and opened in 2012. It was inspired by the Dallas surroundings. The museum was designed to inspire awareness of science through an immersive and interactive environment.

The glass box that encases the escalator is an interesting feature, although that seems to be the only interesting thing about the building. I agree with the building needing to have more glass, because it looks quite bland. This building does look a bit modern so it fits with the science aspect.

I could agree as to how the museum was designed to inspire awareness of science. The design gives me a sense of curiosity. I find so many of the buildings in downtown Dallas to be uniquely built and I enjoy viewing them!

  3. This building always catches my eye, but I have never had the chance to stop by and go inside. Sounds to me like the outside is more appealing than the inside, though!
