Naval Regional Medical Center
With the opening of the Naval Regional Medical Center, Building H1 is used as Headquarters for II Marine Expeditionary Force, one of three Marine Expeditionary Forces in the Marine Corps, and for II MEF’s ground combat element, the 2d Marine Division. This building reminds me of the 4 years I was stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C. I was active duty as a SAW gunner with 3rd battalion 9th Marines. We deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and whenever i drove by this iconic building i knew i was home.
