National Gallery of Australia – PTW Architects

Gallery Australia Gallery2

The National Gallery of Australia was built in such a way to be inviting externally and thought provoking internally. Col Madigan followed a geometric flow in the building and placed windows specifically in order to provide natural light but also not enough to distract the visitors away from the art by outside things. The exterior makes it look like a big tech company but once inside, a serene and harmonious feeling is received by the precise interior shape which is based on the equilateral triangle and provides for a unique flow of shaped architecture.
