Giuseppe Terragni – Casa Del Fascio
This building was the first building that showed up when I searched Terragni. Which means it must have been his claim to fame. Its lines call the eye to follow them in a way that pronounces the effect of perspective. Terragni played with asymmetry by making all elevations of the building different.
The purpose of this building was to serve as a museum of the fascist architecture, and was endorsed by Mussolini. I think it’s interesting that the rationalist/modern movement in architecture, at least in Italy, was aligned with such an ideology.
