E. Fay Jones- John Begley Chapel
This is another piece of architecture built by E. Fay Jones. This chapel was started in 1992 and finished in 1997. The first eye popping feature of the building would be the domes of each structure. They immediately caught my interest as they appear to be open, being that there is no glass surrounding the structure. I found that to be a very interesting concept, as it is a woven dome of metal beams. Upon closer examination the domes are made up of vertical lines with circular pieces filling in the gaps. The most beautiful feature is that the dome illuminates at night. Being a chapel this illumination give a sense of heavenly light shining down on the building. Once again, I thought that was a beautiful feature.
