Catlett Music Center
This building was beautifully designed in a way that displays the artistic value of music. Its open floor plan allows for natural light in the main lobby, along with natural acoustics. These acoustics are harnessed by the organ that is set up in the main lobby, which is sometimes heard through the walls of classrooms because the acoustics work so well. The rehearsal suites for orchestra, band, and choral areas are also acoustically designed for the enrichment of teaching and learning. When I first entered this building freshman year the organ was playing and it almost reminded me of a cathedral in the main lobby. It had a beautiful and melancholic sound to it. This made the overall experience of the building a lot more spectacular than it would have been without the organ.
