Baltimore Basillica

The Baltimore Basillica, also known as Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was designed by Benjamin Latrobe. The importance of this building is that it was one of the first Roman Catholic churches in the United States, as well as one of the first religious building built. The building has large columns at the front and one of the key factors in this building is the dome, which allows for an abundance of natural light to filter in through the visible skylights in the dome. BasilicaExterior
