This building has been highly important to me as the representation of why I spent my first year in Germany, as it is synonymous with Leipzig University itself. Despite never having a class in the building nor spending much time in it, it frames one of the most important squares in the city and is the only modern and interesting building on the square, proving a sharp contrast to the socialist realist Opera, the brutalist concert house, and nineteenth century buildings.
