Santiago Calatreva designed the World Trade Center Transportation Hub after the World Trade Center was rebuilt. It has a neofuturistic style, and Calatreva designed it to resemble a bird being released from a child’s hand. Despite how beautiful it looks, there was a lot of opposition to the building because of how costly it was and its impracticality. The station can only have 46,000 passengers a day, compared to Grand Central Terminal which can accommodate 250,000 passengers. However, I believe the addition of his architecture adds another piece of iconic architecture to New York City.
