The Wedding Cake

The place a man proposes to his future wife, takes lots of thought and can cause a bunch of stress. My husband and I were in Rome over three years ago, when he had a ring burning a whole in his pocket. As we traveled in Paris and Germany he looked for the perfect place to pop the question. None of them seemed to be the one though. When we were in Rome he continued to search for the perfect place. He didn’t want a place too crowded or one without a beautiful view. Finally we got off a bus at an area we thought would have the spanish steps. As we climbed the steps we had a beautiful view of Rome. Bryan knew this was his moment and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his bride. Little did Bryan know we were on a building called the Vittoriano which was nicknamed the “Wedding Cake” by the Romans. SO yes my husband totally proposed on the “Wedding Cake”, and I of course said yes. This building will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

  1. Such a beautiful building and beautiful story. I’d love to see Rome, and it is a place that would be very easy to study architecture in!
