This is the Paimio Sanatorium which is located in Paimio, Finland. It was designed by Alvar Aalto and his wife and was completed in 1932. It served as a sanatorium for tuberculosis until the 1960’s. This design was during Alvar Aalto’s modernist period of his career. Him and his wife not only designed the exterior and the interior, but all of the furniture as well. An interesting feature of the hospital are the balconies that allow the patients to get some sunlight from the comfort of their room.
