This is the Moore Warren Theatre built in 2008. I am from Moore and have witnessed this particular building go through many stages. For starters, everyone in Moore was extremely excited that we were getting such a great movie theater to enjoy for years to come. Since it’s opening day, it has brought in hundred of thousands of people through the city of Moore, therefore boosting the success of the many businesses that surround it.
Personally, I adore the Warren. The outside of this building displays large neon lights which immediately attract eyes from all the way out to I-35. The seating space, quality, and style was very intricately designed to compliment a customer’s entire experience.
My favorite aspect of the Warren is the domed ceiling when you first walk in. It is painted a beautiful navy blue with a variety of Greek mythological characters dancing around. They have lights that circle the dome which give spotlight to the magnificence of the entire design.
Lastly, this building is strong. Moore was hit by a major tornado in 2013 that caused extreme devastation across the city of Moore. This tornado leveled and destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses…. Except the Warren. The above picture shows the aftermath of the Warren after the 2013 tornado. Now, if you know anything about tornadoes, then you should know that come quickly and with VERY little warning to take shelter. Therefore, the people who were inside the Warren had no time to leave for other shelter. Here’s the best part and why I love the Warren so dearly– Not a single person was close to harm. It withstood the horrendous F-5 tornado that destroyed my hometown, and still stands proudly today.
PS… NOTE… The eery words and letters that remained after the tornado hit on the outside bulletin board. For example: “into darkness”, “Oblivion”, and “Pain and gain”.
