This non-denominational chapel is located on campus at Massachusetts Institute of Technology next to Kresge Auditorium and Kresge Oval, which were also designed by Eero Saarinen. This building is probably considered boring by most people because it is shaped like a cylinder. The cylinder building is 50 feet wide and 30 feet tall. Saarinen used imperfect brick to create a textured effect that is still soft on the eyes. On the inside you will see tiled floor with wooden chairs setup around the stage. The small circular stage has light shining down that reflects off 0f a metal sculpture by Harry Bertoia. From a distance it looks like the metal pieces are floating while the light bounces off the material. This small building is often recognized as a proper example of modern architecture in the United States.
