Along the coastline of Hongluo Lake and north of Beijing lies the Hogluo Villa District. The location gives visitors a spectacular view of mountains, water, and the green landscape. This location was specifically chosen to reflect the image of the building off of the water. Like other MAD Studios works, it was designed to represent elements of nature. The interior of the house is fluid in design. Each room flows into the next without obstacles. The swimming pools outside frame the house, and add to the water element. The space of the clubhouse–in and out–is meant to inspire visitors to create and follow their own journey through the house. The journey might vary depending on emotional and physical experiences of the visitors.
This building was completed in less than a year, and is 487 square meters built on a 189 square meter space.
