When one first walks into this beautiful building, the first thing they notice is the abundance of natural light. This is, in part, due to the open floor plan that the main lobby has, but also the abundance of windows that basically make up the face of the building. This open floor plan also allows the viewer to see up to the second floor, or vice versa. As such, I believe this building was most likely designed in a way that makes the people who enter it feel comfortable. The atmosphere of the building makes studying and critical thinking a bit easier because the natural light brightens up the mood of the building. It is also interesting to see how red brick is used on the outside of building, which contrasts heavily with the lighter colored stone and gives it a subtle “crimson and cream” feel.
