Daniel Burnham – The Flatiron Building

The Flatiron Building in Manhattan has a distinct triangular shape and is an iconic building. Daniel Burnham built it in 1902, and it has an edge that makes it fit on the street of Fifth Avenue and Broadway. This would be a fun building to take pictures of from many different angles. Some of the pictures from above make the building look as if it is fake or edited because of the shape that it is. Certain angles make it look flat and other angles make it is easier to see the triangular shape. I think that the shape, height, and design of the Flatiron Building make it one of Burnham’s best works of architecture. It’s a combination of Renaissance, Beaux-Arts, and Renaissance Revival architecture style which compliments the shape of the building. The Flatiron Building would be remarkable to see in person.
