Perhaps the most influential building–apart from my home–is my high school in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Completed in 2011, this 3A high school is a large step above the old facilities. It was designed to be modern and somewhat abstract, with irregularly placed poles holding up coverings for shade and differently colored floor tiles that lead into the walls. It was built to provide a well-lit space for growth and learning. However, the main focus of the building is the basketball gym (pictured above with “HOME OF THE BLANCHARD LIONS” written on it).
Some of my best and worst days were spent in this building. All four years of my high school career were definitely memorable. Looking back, I now realize how positively I have been affected by making pleasant memories in my high school.
