300 North LaSalle was built in 2009 in Chicago. The building is primarily office space but also houses shops, restaurants, and other public spaces. The skyscraper is certified LEED Platinum and features a 50% green roof as well as a waterfront garden along the Chicago River’s shore. Ownership of the building has changed several times since its completion due to difficulty finding lessees, but the tower remains an architectural work of art. Chicago is no New York, but it does still have its fair share of skyscrapers. The fact that 300 North LaSalle manages to stand out in such a city is a testament to Jon Pickard’s design.
